Do You Practice the Art of Doing Enough?
How many times have you wished you could do more? Or had wished you’d stopped because you’d done too much? You’re not alone. It seems to be one of our greatest challenges to find the optimum point between the time, energy, effort, space and our involvement in any activity or experience. We have to find the artful balance between what we want, can and need to do, and how to get it done.
There is an art to doing enough. The art comes in finding the place where personal harmony meets balance. And where emotional fulfillment, mental stimulation, accomplishment and spiritual connectivity intersect.
It’s equally important to enjoy the journey you’re on. If you’re going to or have to do something, it’s about having a great ride along the way. Your journey will be that much better if you include the art of appreciation, being more fully aware of the process, participate with awareness in whatever you create, refine and contribute to in your life.
When you become more aware and conscious of how much energy, time and effort you put into your relationships, activities, and life will help you stay in balance so you are able to practice the art of doing enough. Otherwise, you’ll still be practicing doing too much, too little and likely getting frustrated, tired, war weary and stressed out.
The most beneficial part is when you get to the point where you know that you’ll have done what you set out to do. Yet the practice of the art of doing enough is not simply about efficiency and accomplishment. It is about feeling good about every step – at least as many as possible – of the journey and the fulfillment that comes from accomplished.
The key is that as you participate in all the activities, thoughts and emotions leading to doing enough – and away from doing too much or too little, you’ll benefit from whatever you do, try and explore. Becoming more present, aware, effective, and relaxed and help you get what you need done better, faster and with less fuss. You can leave behind the habit of over-doing or not doing what you’d hoped to do. Hundreds to billions of seconds in your future can then be converted from what might frustrate you to moments that will make the quality of your life all the better. You may even find it easier to do what you want to fulfill your life’s purpose.
The Art of Doing Enough will soon be an ebook. Webinars, a workbook, audio book and other content will also be available.
